How the estimate is calculated
Concrete volume uses the pad’s length, width, and thickness.
Gravel uses the same footprint and the gravel depth, with no waste added, at 1.4 tons per cubic yard.
Pad and base
Concrete yards use the slab formula. Gravel yards equal the same area times gravel depth in feet, divided by 27.

What changes the result
Equipment pads
A condenser pad can be smaller than the 10 by 10 default. Shrink the dimensions.
Gravel density
Tons use 1.4 tons per cubic yard, a common planning weight for gravel.
Frost
Cold climates may need a thicker base or a different footing. This page does not design that.
